Toastmaster Carleen Griffith received the Bellwether Pioneer award to achieve Competent Communicator status for the term 2017-2018 on Thursday, May 10. “I joined Toastmaster to improve my public speaking and leadership skills.
My journey to achieve my Competent Communicator distinction was not easy. Many times I thought it was not possible because there are so many hindrances. However, it pushed me into developing time management skills as I was juggling work, performing my duties as Sergeant-at-Arms and preparing my speeches all at the same time," she said after receiving the award.
