William heads to The Hague July 4

PHILIPSBURG--Prime Minister William Marlin will lead a small delegation to The Hague on Tuesday, July 4, for the hearing before the Council of State.

The hearing has to do with the protest St. Maarten has filed against the Dutch Government over the dispute between St. Maarten and the Netherlands regarding the Integrity Chamber, the Dutch Government's appointment of a quarter master and the instruction received by St. Maarten on this matter.

Marlin told reporters at the weekly Council of Ministers press briefing on Wednesday that the hearing is scheduled for Thursday, July 6. “We hope it will be concluded on that day, but in the event we have to go back on the 7th, provisions have been made for that as well,” Marlin said.
