Mullet Bay Golf Course

Dear Editor,

It’s a crying shame it should have to come to that! However, it is time that the golfers take a stand. Giving your money to play and support a sub-standard golf course with incredibly poor fairways and greens, (due to no irrigation system) and dilapidated carts and equipment is disgraceful.

The "Owner" of the course should be ashamed to have his name associated with this manicured cow pasture of a golf course and the Owners’ Association of the Towers at Mullet Bay should unite and show their intent to take him to court for leaving them with such a decrepit mess.

I typically don’t believe in government interfering in private business affairs. However, when an owner has a monopoly, such as the ONLY golf course on the island and its members, staff and timeshare owners are being neglected and gouged by the mere fact that the owner doesn’t care or it’s not in his best interest. Then is when I feel the government should step in as the voice of the people, the customers of the course, even if in the capacity of a mediator to help improve the course conditions.

Until then this “Players Strike” could possibly make an impression on how much the locals do support the course. It should’ve been enough of an impact when cruise ships stopped listing that the island has a golf course due to so many complaints and poor reviews by tourists.

I know most of this may fall on deaf ears, But it has to start somewhere! Golfers UNITE!

Mullet Bay was once a Readers Digest 5-star rated Caribbean Golf destination. I can’t help but believe it could be great again.
