Masks to protect against the coronavirus.
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic--The Ministry of Public Health is recommending that Dominicanos return to the COVID-19 preventive measures. The ministry recommends resuming the practice of wearing face masks to reduce exposure to the XBB.1 subvariant of Omicron.
With the onset of the lower temperatures for the Dominican Republic winter season, the conditions favour the spreading of the virus. The health authorities understand that hygiene measures, social distancing and mask-wearing can work to reduce exposure to the virus.
The Ministry of Public Health also recommends boosting vaccine schemes, for which an extensive stock of vaccines is available. The Ministry of Public Health says that only 400,000 persons have a fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccine. ~ DR1 News ~
