Carib Swim Team concludes season with win in Sonesta St Maarten Invite

COLE BAY-- Carib Swim Team won the  Sonesta St Maarten International Invite, held June 24 to26 at the team’s pool in Cole Bay. The meet featured   Bulado Swimming Club from Curacao, Sharks Swim Team, Super Splash Swim Team, and the meet host, Carib Swim Team.  Eighty-five  swimmers between the ages of 5 and 18 competed in more than 650 individual races and relay events during the three day meet.


  Carib Swim Team won with 1,030 points, followed by Bulado in second with 695 points, Super Splash in third with 329 points, and Sharks in fourth with 295 points.
  The Sonesta St Maarten International Invite is the last meet of the season for the local island teams, and the first time in many years that Carib Swim Team has hosted an international competition, bringing in swimmers from outside St Maarten. 
   The following swimmers won their age groups with the highest combined scores in individual races:  Fien Bax, CST, 6 and under girls; Adaya Bourne, Sharks, 7-8 girls; Miles Cheasley, CST, 7-8 boys; Christy De Palm, Bulado, 9-10 girls; Matias Piazza, CST, 9-10 boys; Kaylee Louisa, Bulado, 11-12 girls; Judrickson Sirvania, Bulado, 11-12 boys; Naima Dessout, CST, 13-14 girls; Nahel Ramanaidou, CST, 13-14 boys; Johanna Looser, CST, 15 and over girls; Vince Treurniet, Bulado, 15 and over boys.
  Local swimming competitions will resume in the fall, beginning with the Corail Helicopteres Invite, hosted by Carib Swim Team, in September.
