Granger of Saba takes second place in Bonaire

SABA--James Raymond Ralph Granger from Saba finished second in the fifth My Guardian Group Walk & Run 2019 in Kralendijk, Bonaire on Sunday May 19.


  The race started at 6:30am at Bachelor’s Beach and ended at Sorobon Beach.  The purpose of the Walk & Run is to promote a healthy life style. Granger was one of 375 participants, aged 6 to 70. The length of the run was an 8K stretch. Granger was able to finish the Walk & Run in 00:31:53 and he won second place. Charlon Sumter from Bonaire won first place.
  Granger has participated in many other short and long- distance marathon representing the island of Saba. He was also a participant in the Saba Triathlon in January this year. On June 2, he will run half a marathon in Aruba.
  The KLM Aruba Marathon 2019 is a very popular international sports event which draws a large number of participants to the island. The course will be along the waterfront, from Eagle beach, the high-rise hotel area, to the famous light house the full course is a loop which ends at the famous beach of the Hilton Aruba.
  The KLM Aruba Marathon is 42.2K and set to begin at 3:30am. This marathon also includes a 21.1K start, a 10K start, and a 5K start. This gives participants several options. Granger will start at the 21.1K mark which means he will be starting at 5:30am. Granger said he is very much looking forward to running the half marathon in Aruba.
  People can keep track of his performance with the free Aruba Marathon App including Track & Trace, available at the App store or Google play. The KLM Aruba Marathon 2019 is for young and old, schools and companies.
