ORIENT BAY--The fifth edition of Les Foulées de la Bell’ Orientale organised by the Inter Generation Runners Club took place in Orient Bay on Sunday, April 20, attracting over 200 runners and walkers. Participants had a choice of a 5K Run or Walk and a 10K run.
The courses passed through Orient Bay, Le Galion, Reserve Naturelle and French Quarter. The 10K Run with 110 participants was won by Jean Nicolas Labeyrie in 35:26, followed in second place by the amazing Cecilia Mobuchon from the Golden Stars Club, first female to finish, in 39:42. Third place went to Jeannot Gouin from Inter-Generation Runners in 40:12. There was a good representation from the SXM Roadrunners Club who entered about a dozen athletes. Leading the way was Marcel de Wit, finishing in 22nd place overall in 49:12. SXM Road Runners President Krispijn Teunissen finished in 49th place with a time of 55:41 The 5K run with 82 participants was won by Loic Absalon in 16:59. Second place went to Ianis Bourley in 18:33 and third place to Aleks in 20:02. First female to finish was Nathalie Maniez in 23:21. Results of the 5K walk were not published
