Over 100 registrations so far for Coors Light Half marathon May 2

PHILIPSBURG—Organisers are encouraging more runners to sign up for Sunday’s Coors Light Half Marathon, the 10K race or the 5K races, for what already looks set to be a record turn-out.

“Right now the majority of the registrations have signed up for the half marathon with the next biggest number being the 10K and finally the 5K,” noted St. Maarten Road Runners board member Susy Piscione. “The race starts at 6:30 am with the runners coming up out of the Divi Little Bay Resort, so we are asking motorists to be cautions on the road when driving in that area from 6:30 am to 9:30 am.”

The 5K race was added this year to encourage more youth to participate in running competitions.
The 5K goes out along the Boardwalk and back while the 10K and 21K continue on to Pointe Blanche and then return via the Pondfill, Bush Road, and Belair with the 10K finishing at Divi and the 21K continuing on for another lap.
The 21K starts at 6:30am and the 10 and 5K races at 7:00am. The 2019 winner of the 10K was Omarco Robinson in 38 minutes and Francois Roussas won the 21K in 1:21:00.
A delegation from St. Barths is expected to participate in the event following the success of their Half Marathon in February.
Registration is on line or at both Tri Sport locations (Simpson Bay and Marigot). Course maps and registration link are on the Tri Sport website.
Entry fee is US$20 for the 21K, US$15 for the 10K, and US$10 for the 5K (US$5 for children under 15 years. Entry fee includes breakfast at the Divi Little Bay Resort.
Organisers are offering free registration to the first five kids to enter the 5K.
