As Natural As Possible

Hey, all you natural shoppers out there! Check out the new store with organic fruit and vegetables in Marigot – it just opened its doors last week! It’s called “As Natural As Possible” and it’s a new venture.

Located behind Marina Royale across from the Marigot cemetery, As Natural As Possible will be importing its fruit and vegetables mostly from Guadeloupe, although some locally grown produce will be available as well. The Colombier region is a prime interest in this supply chain. And then there are some unusual fruits and vegetables that will be shipped in from France.

Owners Sylvie Hodge and Claude Jeffers said the idea came from a trip to Guadeloupe, where Jeffers noticed an abundance of fruits and vegetables growing on the island. These were available on the roadsides at inexpensive prices. They plan to supply yachts and restaurants interested in fresh and organic produce.

Examples of fruits and vegetables from Guadeloupe include watermelons, cantaloupes, melons, carrots, peppers, avocadoes, christophines, plantains, tangerines and tomatoes. The shop has other items such as honey, brown sugar, herbs and spices.

As Natural As Possible is located at 17 Auberge du Mer, in the alley behind Antipodes. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday 7:30am to 5:00pm. Generally, the new arrivals of produce will be on Wednesdays and Fridays. For more information, visit the store’s Facebook page ANAP SXM.
