When I think of the word, I say it in my head like “Mo-vember”, so when did this start up? I personally heard about it some four to five years ago, when one of my neat, cutesy young guy friends grew a moustache, and wouldn’t stop. All us ladies were wondering what was up with him (mind you, this was before this latest beard craze).
When we asked, he explained that he was growing a moustache in support of Movember, Movember?!! What is that? He answered, “Men (those who normally don’t sport moustaches) would grow a moustache for the month of November to bring awareness to prostate cancer.
“Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of various cancers, such as prostate cancer. The Movember Foundation runs the Movember charity event, housed at Movember.com. The goal of Movember is to change the face of men's health."-Wikipedia
Besides annual check-ups, Movember Foundation encourages men to be aware of a family history of cancer and to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
Prostate Cancer
Prostate Cancer is the second leading cause of death from cancer in men. Prostate cancer occurs more often in African-American men than in white men. African-American men with prostate cancer are more likely to die from the disease than white men with prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the United States, after skin cancer.
Symptoms
Some prostate cancer signs related to urination include the following:

To stay on the safe side, please get a screening. When you reach 40, your doctor may ask you to do a blood test and will take it from there if something is out of the ordinary!
