A hair care line for all hair textures
The “all about texture series” workshop with Mizani was held on November 6-7 at Divi Little Bay Resort Convention Center. The workshop was held by Atiuska Vargas, a Mizani International Artist and Redken Salon Professional Academy Educator, who has been working in the hair industry for 19 years. She has attended some of the most prestigious academies and has trained with many of the industry’s most recognized artists.
Vargas, who hails from the Dominican Republic, grew up in a hair salon, surrounded by the many persons who came to visit the salon. She stated that your hair is a part of your appearance and when persons come to a hair salon, they communicate with each other through their emotions and their feeling by their choice of hairstyles.
There were 50 participants at the two-day workshop, some were hairdressers with 20 to 30 years of experience and others were fairly new to hairdressing. Vargas said the participants were excited and engaged during the workshop. They were educated by her as to how they can use the Mizani products on various hair types and how to be a successful hair stylist. She is of the opinion that a successful hairdresser will listen to their clients and try to provide them with the best service possible.
Mizani experts will also receive assistance with exposure and will be able to attend a workshop which will be held on the island possibly twice a year allowing them to learn new skills and be competent to work with new Mizani products which are introduced to the market. When such trainings are held, the Mizani hair expert can also visit the hair salon of a participating hairstylist in order to evaluate and give suggestions if needed, to better the service given to their clients.
