Peanut butter cups are a tasty treat, and there’s no oven or stove-top needed for this recipe. You will use the microwave, so make sure to do this recipe with an adult.
To make the melted chocolate, you can cut up a chocolate bar into small pieces, or use chocolate chips. Melt it in a microwave-safe bowl, in 10-second bursts ONLY. Then take it out and stir it. Repeat until completely melted. The microwave heats unevenly, so if you heat it in the microwave for longer, you might get burned parts, and underdone parts.
You’ll need
½ cup creamy peanut butter (120 g)
1 cup chocolate, melted (170 g)
3 tablespoons powdered sugar, sifted
One 6-cup muffin tin
6 cupcake liners
Instructions
Place the cupcake liners into the muffin tin.
Stir peanut butter and powdered sugar together until smooth.
Spread 1 to 2 tablespoons of melted chocolate into each cupcake liner.
Spoon the peanut butter mixture into the centre, on top of the chocolate, dividing it equally into 6 parts.
Cover with the remaining melted chocolate, and smoothen the tops with your spoon.
Put the peanut butter cups in the fridge to harden, for at least one hour.
Take them out of the fridge when ready to eat. Pop them out of the cupcake liners and enjoy!
