Dunk slices of your favourite apple in this creamy, sweet pumpkin dip – a quick snack perfect for when you have friends over. You might think of the holidays when you think of pumpkin, but we thought of this recipe to celebrate something else – World Bee Day!
World Bee Day will be celebrated next Thursday, May 20. Do you know that you can thank the bees for delicious apples and pumpkins? Bees and other pollinators help to increase the yield and quality of crops for many of the foods we love. In fact, bees pollinate a third of the foods we eat, and help to sustain the world’s ecosystems! Thanks, busy bees!
You’ll need
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup pure pumpkin
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon vanilla
Apples for dipping (any kind)
Instructions
Make sure the cream cheese is soft. Leave it at room temperature for about 45 minutes before starting to make the recipe.
Combine all ingredients (except for the apples) into a medium bowl and have an adult whisk everything together with an electric mixer for about 3 minutes.
Pour the mixture into a serving bowl, and serve with your favourite apples, cut into slices, on the side.
