~ Young stars set to shine on stage ~
Lion King is coming! This year will see the release of a new Lion King movie, but here on The Friendly Island, some kids are more excited to be involved in the musical play which will be on stage at the Tent in Port de Plaisance on June 1 and 2.
They’ve been working hard, learning songs and dances, really getting into their characters…and some pretty crazy costumes! Let’s meet some of these kids and find out how to join in future productions.
Sofia Nelly Suire will play the part of young Nala. She will act, sing and dance on stage. At age nine, she has already won awards for her singing. She attends St. Maarten Montessori School.
Topper Daboul will play the part of young Simba. Topper is a natural performer and already at age seven is ready to take on one of the lead roles in this famous musical play. With solo parts in several songs including “I just can’t wait to be King” and “Hakuna Matata”, Topper is a star in the making. He attends Learning Unlimited Preparatory School.
Stefanie Frederiks has the role of Timon, a feisty little meerkat with a quick wit. Stefanie is ready for her performance on stage with Timon’s sidekick, Pumba. At age 11, the limelight is calling and she is answering! Stefanie attends the St. Maarten Montessori School.
Backup roles are being played by two sisters, N'dia and Ai'ly Lake, and by Talisha Thomas as well. These three attend College Mont des Accord on the French side.
These kids are anxious to get on stage and show you what they can do! Tickets for kids are US $25. Come and support these future stars and enjoy a fun and moving musical play.
