Q Kids – Singing for a good cause!

St. Joseph School is celebrating its 120th anniversary and is preparing a great show with dancing and singing. This spectacular night will be one of the fund raising events to acquire new equipment for the school. The Kids Herald talked to a few members from the St. Joseph School choir. Here is what the kids had to say about singing at the upcoming show.

Ashani Richardson (9)“I enjoy singing very much because even if you can’t sing so well, singing makes you feel really good. We have a wonderful choir teacher, Teacher Betty Ellis. She helps us with all our songs and for example she tells us when and how to make the voice high or low. My favourite song is “El Shaday.”

Kyeanna Connor (11)“The main thing I like about singing is that you get to express yourself. I get nervous when I sing alone in front everybody so I prefer to sing in the choir. My favourite song is called “The Mountains.”

Dominique Guishard (10)“I like to be part of the choir because I can bring out my true self. My favourite is Light of the World and I am the solo singer in the song.”

Devin Moncrieffe (10)“I would like to invite everybody to our show. It will be on February 13 at the Belair Community Centre and it will start at 7:30 pm. We have tickets for sale. We will be singing a lot of songs. Come and enjoy yourself!”
