Celebrate the spirit of giving@ Christmas Helping Angels 1000 Gifts Giveaway and Christmas Concert

The Dance & Arts Dimensions Academy (DADA) is back with a bang this year. Their 7th Annual 1000 Gifts Giveaway is slated for Sunday, December 17, at the Asha Stevens Hillside School! Besides lots of fun and games, raffles, a picture booth, a costume contest, and free toys for children, kids can look forward to a visit from Santa, as well as firemen who will let the kids check out their trucks. New this year is the free Christmas concert showcasing dancers and local artists.

This year, the Christmas Helping Angels will be an all-day event for the whole family. From 11:00am to 4:00pm, children ages 0 to 16 will receive their gifts. After that, the Christmas costume competition is on! The Christmas themed costume competition is open to kids ages four to 12. Three winners will be chosen based on creativity, presentation and originality.

Added bonus this year is the free community concert at the Hillside Christian School starting at 5:30pm. Here, local artists such as Benjamin Bell, Rahim on steel pan, hip hop dancer Rijkman Hodge, the students of Dance and Arts Dimensions Academy Foundation will take the stage and spread lots of holiday cheer.

With the help of generous sponsors, the dance school annually gives away over 1,000 gifts to kids ages 16 and under (any child can join) and provides a day of fun that is open to everyone. Conceived after Hurricane Irma by DADA Foundation President Jane Hendrickson and instructors Inga Brown and Gersha Tjaaroeme, the event has grown in popularity over the years, hampered only by the pandemic. This year, they are once again going all out!

Santa will make a grand entrance (we won’t tell you how!) and will be giving out gifts and candy. Kids can check out and even ride on a fire truck, when the firefighters and police officers come to pay a visit. Snack boxes are available to the kids, and lots of snacks and drinks will be on sale, including Johnny cakes, popcorn, hot dogs, pastries and cakes. DADA would like to thank all the sponsors, volunteers and community helpers for assisting in making the holiday cheer possible and helping the organisers celebrate their seventh year of gift giving.

The Christmas Helping Angels 1000 Gifts Giveaway will take place at Asha Stevens Hillside Christian School in Cay Hill, from 11:00am to 5:30pm on Sunday, December 17, the concert is to take place from 5:30pm onwards. This year, the costume competition runs from 4:00 to 5:30pm.

Registration via Facebook is required for the costume contest. There will be gifts for babies and kids up to 16 years of age. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Parents cannot collect gifts without the child being present. For more information, contact DADA through Facebook@DanceDimensionsA, email at This email address is being protected from spambots.
