Serving up sax on the beach - Friday

What is the best way to show gratitude? Ain't nothing better than some good sax on the beach – and that is exactly what talented St. Maarten saxophonist Connis Vanterpool will serve up on Friday. Connis intends to blow you away with cool saxophone sounds at Karakter Beach Bar and Lounge for a free public gratitude concert from 7:00 to 10:00pm.

The concert is to thank all of the organizations and people who rallied around him after his vintage saxophone was stolen from his car earlier this year. Connis had had his saxophone for most of his professional life and had played many concerts locally, regionally and internationally with his trusty companion. Losing the saxophone was a terrible blow for Connis who had a major gig the same week it was stolen. His public plea to the person who took it to return it without consequences went unanswered. However, his plea was heard in the community and there was an immediate effort to raise funds to get him a new instrument. Connis received his new saxophone and has spent the past few weeks getting acquainted with it. The duo is now ready to make their debut at Karakter Beach Bar and Lounge where he has played many times with his trusty (now lost) vintage saxophone. Connis will play his original music at the gratitude concert. He will be joined by some of his talented friends for the musical event on the beach. Joining him are singers Essynce, Betty V and Percy Rankin. “All music lovers are invited to indulge in with some sax on the beach with soft, sensual music on Friday. It's the perfect start to an exciting weekend,” says Connis.
