Dance and Art Dimensions Academy (DADA) will be hosting a concert at Christian Fellowship Church Hall in Simpson Bay (opposite Domino's Pizza) on Saturday, August 1, from 7:00pm.
Performing at the concert will be DADA students; a group of 11 trained dancers who are visiting from the US for missionary work; persons who took classes from the US-based dancers and Jamaican Gospel singer and songwriter George Gordon. Performances will include the use of flags, tambourines, billows and the piano, as well as praise and worship.While in St. Maarten, the US dancers, who hail from Break Free Dance Studios Pennsylvania and Jubilee Dance Studio in New York, are passing on their skills to interested locals. They are giving classes up until tomorrow, Friday, July 31, at Asha Stevens Hillside Christian School. Some 30 persons from St. Maarten/St. Martin are participating in the dance classes.The visiting dancers, who are trained and skilled in various areas including African, ballet, contemporary and modern, also took time out to visit with and perform for clients of Sr. Basilia Center and St. Martin's Home.Concert tickets cost US $15/NAf. 27 and are available at Family Bookstore in Philipsburg, Janek's Boutique at Yogesh Commercial Complex and Asha Stevens Hillside Christian School in Cay Hill.
