Come one, come all! The Dance Arts Dimensions Academy (DADA) International Foundation presents their 8th Annual 1000 Gifts Give Away this Saturday, December 14, at the Asha Stevens Hillside Elementary School from 11:00am to 4:30pm.
This long running event, which celebrates DADA’s Christmas Helping Angels, is an exciting one for the entire family. There will be a grand entrance of their special guest – the one-and-only Santa Claus! To heat up the event, DJ Chubs will be providing the Caribbean Christmas vibes and the Dutch side’s Fire Department will be bringing their team. There will even be a fire truck on hand to give rides to the children, and Grain D’Or will be performing a unique cultural dance.
Everyone is invited to this free event so bring the whole family! Parents must be with their children ages (0-16 years) in order for their child to receive a gift. There will be raffles during the whole day for our parents to join in on the fun. Other activities include face painting, bouncy castle, crafts, food and. Make sure to get festive and dress up because the “Best Christmas Costume” will receive a prize. DADA is fully involved with the arts and does a lot of community initiatives, hosting dance events throughout the year.
This event is one that is very close to the hearts of the organizers of DADA. Since the passing of Hurricane Irma in 2017, they decided to fill a void for the many children who may be without gifts. They wanted to initiate this very heart-warming event to give back to the children of the community of St. Maarten. The Dance school is accepting enrolment for continuing and new dancers in January. The Asha Stevens School is located in Cay Hill, just past the Sint Maarten Medical Center and next to the Fire Department.
