~ Just Lekker ~
It was a relaxed and calm rainy afternoon – not too hot, not too cold – and the Crazy Cow turned out to be the perfect spot to have a nice lunch.
My lunch partner and I sat down and were quickly given the menu, he loved the list of burgers and was having a hard time deciding which to choose (they all sounded so good). He finally narrowed it down to The Flying Dutchman, a burger consisting of an 8oz Angus Beef Burger with mustard sauce, Gouda cheese, cucumber, tomato, Amsterdam onion and lettuce. It came with a green apple and celery side salad and home-made fries! My partner commented that his burger was a "nice big burger" – indeed it was!
Ordered medium, the Filet Mignon – a tiny looking yet tall piece of meat – tasted delicious, with homemade French fries and a side salad (celery and green apple mixture, yummy). I ordered with peppercorn sauce.
As good as the lunch was, the chocolate cake was the star of the show – not too sweet, not too chocolaty – and its denseness was completely enjoyable so much so that I had to personally compliment the chef, who is from here and had studied his art in the kitchen on island!
I appreciate that Crazy Cow is a cool, casual place with really good food, decent service and a nice selection of pleasant background music (not loud). It's located right on the water, which we both liked as well!
Check them out on TripAdvisor, they have great reviews!
So far, Crazy Cow is also on the line-up for Taste of St. Maarten 2015.
