The only time I’ve ever had anything from Cugini was take-out, as I have a few family members who are huge fans and, yes, I understand why. But these loved ones also regularly get to go to the restaurant and enjoy the atmosphere; I haven’t yet had that privilege until now!
Although there is parking, we walked over to Cugini because we felt like it; got seated and checked the menu – we both felt like having the Bruschetta.
Then our main dishes came and – wow – large, beautiful plates! I had ordered the Ravioli special with Gorgonzola sauce and filled with creamed spinach. It was heavenly and so satisfying. My date ordered the Lasagna Bolognese, a big serving of delectable layers of all that you’d expect of lasagna, so full of flavour and also very rich.
This was a very, very satisfying dinner. The atmosphere was amazing; there was a sort of DJ/live singer with the most beautiful voice, who played famous Italian songs known from famous singers and movies. He went around with his jolly heavy Italian accent taking requests; he really made it such a wonderful atmosphere – and boy is he talented! What a beautiful, romantic voice!
There were lots of people dining at Cugini when we were there, all in high spirits and praising the food as well. While enjoying the entertainment (which I hear is every night), we totally delighted in our rich plates and of course left a little space over for dessert, which was a very light and chocolaty but not too sweet chocolate cake. I enjoyed it and I’m not even a big chocolate fan. So you chocoholics out there, this is definitely your thing!
Cugini is a spacious restaurant full of old and new Italian flavours, you can see what’s going on in the kitchen. There’s a big screen of “Cugini TV” playing all kinds of memorable scenes. The live singer is amazing and so welcoming; it’s a cool place, with good satisfying meals!
