Fat Tony’s Smokehouse

Owner Rick has brought a piece of Southern charm to The Friendly Island with this gem of delicious proportions. Fat Tony’s was founded on the principle that good times require great food at a great price. That’s why in 2013 when Rick Cassidy purchased this tiny island smokehouse, he made certain the meats were always smoked to perfection and that the beers were always ice cold.

Post Irma, much has changed for the little roadside smokehouse, but in the best of ways. Using whatever resources he had at his fingertips, Rick was able to feed the medical school students, the Dutch police and locals alike. With the help of the incredible staff, Fat Tony’s became the face of “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” – and the structure was rebuilt into what Rick always envisioned. Through the destruction came the development of not only a new restaurant, but a bigger and more beloved establishment.

The music is as southern as the décor and the smells that come out of the tiny building are mesmerizing. Not sure who Maudry is but her breakfast combo is to die for. Two of everything? Eggs, sausage and bacon with home fries and toast or pancakes for $10! If that’s not a deal, you’re seriously shell-shocked!

Try their famous smoked meat platters; a wild adventure into the depths of aroma and taste. Everything is slow-cooked over hickory wood for 11 hours of mouth-watering, juicy perfection! You can taste the notes of smoky delight as the juices explode on your taste buds. Cool down the flavours with their house potato salad, whose character is a thing of beauty; or spice it up with the homemade hot sauce – so spicy, but so worth the burn – the perfect complement to any dish. With those amazing meats, they create the monstrously delicious smoked meat sandwiches, which I highly recommend.

Enjoy the Garbage Plate for $10 regular or $9 on Mondays. It’s a basket of fries topped with not only one, but TWO juicy signature Zweigle's Red Hots and the zesty homemade meat sauce, also served with macaroni salad and a baked roll! Remember it looks like garbage, it tastes like magic.

Happy Hour specials are from 4:00 to 6:00pm. Check out the daily specials! Located in Cupecoy just off the entrance of AUC, Fat Tony’s is open Monday to Friday 7:00am to 10:00pm and on weekends from 9:30am to 10:00pm. Walk-ins are always welcome; it’s great for kids and dining is totally casual.
