~ Discovery Farm at Seaside Nature Park ~
Designed to offer people of all ages the outdoor experience of meeting farm animals, Discovery Farm and Garden is a small petting farm located at Seaside Nature Park in Cay Bay.
Discovery Farm
What is unique about the Discovery Farm stock is that all farm animals are miniature versions! The horses are not higher than 80cm and the pigs do not to exceed the size of a middle sized dog. All animals are tame and looking forward to meet you. Chickens, sheep, goats, rabbits, ducks, pigs, peacocks and guinea birds will welcome your visit.
For the little ones, there is a small play area, while the bar offers a shaded seating area where you can enjoy a cold drink from the menu. The farm is open Wednesday to Sunday 9:00am to 5:00pm. A very special activity for the little ones is the pony ride, which is available for $5 per ride during opening days of the farm, from 10:00am till 3:30pm.
The farm is organizing FARM FRENZY SPECIAL EVENTS and one of these events is the FULL MOON HIKE – a huge success before and back by great demand! This hike in the early evening hours will take you over the hills of Cay Bay, observing the upcoming moon. With the guidance of the group leaders who will be explaining about the nightlife of St. Maarten’s nature and special facts about the moon.
A great adventure for young and old! When returning from the hike, a bonfire will be waiting, where marshmallows and hotdogs can be roasted, while gazing at the stars and the moon. Even though the intention is to keep all lights out to enjoy the light of the moon, it is good to bring flashlights in case clouds are covering the sky.
For the hike, the young ones will receive a knapsack with some snacks. The price includes the guided hike, a drink and a knapsack (for all those under 12 years old) and participation to the campfires afterward. Drinks, snacks, hotdogs and marshmallows will be for sale. All funds will go towards the expansion of Discovery Farm!
As space is limited, registration has to take place in advance and can be done at the farm by phone or by email. Registration is ongoing and will close tomorrow, Friday, January 22, at 5.00pm. Full is full!

Discovery Farm is located at Seaside Nature Park in Cay Bay. You can reach the farm by driving into the road to Cay Bay (in between the Cay Bay Corner bar and the Daily Extra Supermarket parking lot). Follow the road past the SOL plant, the GEBE power plant and TEXACO, and park at the entrance of Seaside Nature Park. Follow the RED balloons for the short walk to the entrance of the farm.
