Have you voted for your favourite restaurants, stores, entertainment venues and more? Our annual Best Of survey will only be available through Sunday! We want to know what businesses or performers you hold in high esteem. Show them some appreciation by letting them know you love what they do.
To reiterate, we do not have a judging panel picking the winners; we do not give any preference to the newspaper advertisers; and no one can buy their way to the top. Winners are chosen purely by public vote.
Some 80 questions are counted in the survey, split among five sections. Think it’s too long, or don’t have a strong opinion on something? You’re free to skip individual questions or go straight to the section you care about most.
A couple of lists tend to be on the long side (particularly women’s boutique and musical artist) because we want to give contenders a chance at winning. Don’t think you have to go through the entire list. If you know your favourite, just look them up and vote – it’s all alphabetised.
While we ask you to vote for your favourite of the year 2023, please do note that when it comes to performers and writers, for example, some exceptions are made. After all, you don’t produce a movie, book, or album every day, and your favourite of this year in these categories might not have been produced within the 2023 calendar year. While rare, a few performers that have moved abroad have also been included, provided they have still been actively performing/working on the island.
Find the survey pinned on The Daily Herald’s Facebook page, and on our website www.thedailyherald.sx.
Results will be published in late January. Have your say – and may the best man win!
