Start your 2018 off the right way by heading to Karakter Beach Bar & Restaurant for their annual traditional New Year’s Dive. This event, on Monday January 1, 2018, sponsored by Presidente & Jägermeister, is the ORIGINAL and BIGGEST New Year’s day-event on St. Maarten!
DJ Pat will start spinning at 12:00pm and you can also expect a LIVE performance by the talented Gerald. The New Year’s Dive, during which hundreds will line up to take their first ‘dive into the New Year’ will take place at 2:00pm!
Everyone is welcome, and once you have found your perfect spot on the beach, you can enjoy FREE erwtensoep (pea soup)! Other drinks and food will also be for sale on the beach, including Dutch snack favourites, such as broodje rookworst, broodje kroket, broodje frikandel, broodje gezond, broodje hamburger and kipsaté!
As usual Karakter will be offering a fully stocked bar, with all your favourites, including all day US $2.50 Presidente or $12.50 Presidente buckets.

The restaurant now has additional parking available and a free shuttle to and from the beach. Karakter is open seven days a week, form 9:00am till 10”00pm and is located on one of the most beautiful beaches of St. Maarten, one-mile-long Simpson Bay Beach.
