Night of the Hit Makers 2019

The official jouvert warm-up party just keeps getting bigger and bigger. With the recent addition of Darryl “Farmer Nappy” Henry to the already impressive line-up, fans of Hit Makers are destined to feel “at home” as the internationally renowned soca artiste makes them do what comes naturally… FETE!

Hailing from the sister nation Trinidad and Tobago, Farmer Nappy has an extensive and impressive music career that began when he was just seven years old. He played percussion in a band that would later evolve into Xtatic where he was the right hand man of Machel Montano for over 25 years as instrumentalist and songwriter.

Some memorable hits inked by Farmer Nappy include “Big Truck,” “Music Farm,” “Tayee Ayee,” “Crowded,” “No Carnival”, “UFO,” “Big Phat Fish,” “Low Riders”, “Water Flowing,” “Junkyard” and “Granny.” In 1998, he won Best Songwriter for “Footsteps” which also won Road March that year.

As a founding member of Xtatic, Farmer Nappy worked closely with Montano with whom he developed a brotherly bond and simultaneously travelled the world where he would leave the influence of his soulful groovy soca behind.

In 2008, he departed the band in pursuit of his solo career and successfully launched his ever popular “Chippin” at Crop Over 2007 in Barbados. Other legendary hits include “Big People Party”, “Loosen De Chain”, “Bambilambambilambilambam”, “Technically”, “Wifey” and his latest hit “Hookin Me”. However, words will never do his repertoire of music justice; you simply have to hear it for yourself!

Xtratight Entertainment guarantees that fans of the Hit Makers will indeed be hooked after witnessing what will go down in history as the most epic night of Carnival 50. Farmer Nappy will grace the Festival Village stage on April 26 alongside Youth Waves, Buleria, Edwin Yearwood & Krosfyah, and KASSAV.

If you missed out on the Early Bird special and last week’s 50-minute Flash Sale, you can still purchase regular tickets for just $40. Tickets are currently available at TelEm (Pond Island and Simpson Bay), Adolphus Richardson, Van Dorp (both locations), Oasis Food, SOS Radio and Levi’s Boutique in Marigot.
