Pop into Pineapple Pete for a Poke Bowl Luncheon

Most of us know and love the extensive offerings of Pineapple Pete’s regular menu, such as the renowned lobster thermidor, excellent burgers, and juicy ribeye steak. You are probably also aware that Pineapple Pete also offers superb Asian flavours on its Wasabi Charlie and Teppanyaki/Hibachi menus. But did you know that they also offer Poke Bowls?

It’s now January when we are all supposed to try our best to lean towards being healthy – and a poke bowl for lunch is an excellent choice. Pineapple Pete offers a wide selection of poke bowls as a lunchtime special that’s available from 12-noon to 2:00pm Monday through Sunday. All poke bowls are made with seasoned sushi rice, seaweed salad, chucks of fresh avocado, cucumber and mango, bean sprouts, and spring onions. It is up to you to choose your “centre” with options ranging from cubed salmon, to cubed tuna, spicy salmon, spicy tuna, or spicy crab – all of which are topped with bright orange Tobiko, which is “flying fish roe” in Japanese cuisine.

If you’re not a big fan of sushi options in general, or are just not in the mood to have raw fish for your centre; you can also choose from tasty, hearty options like pork gyoza, chicken teriyaki, chicken katsu, grilled salmon or sweet chili chicken. There are even vegetarian centres, including edamame or vegetarian gyozas – and all options are priced between US $15.95 and $18.95. In the poke bowl world, the “icing on the cake” is the sauce, which comes in four great choices at Pineapple Pete – Spicy mayo, Eel sauce, Sriracha sauce and Wasabi aioli.

The “Pineapple Pete Poke Bowl Luncheon Special” can also be ordered to-go, making it a quick mid-day lunch solution for local workers, business persons, or anyone busy and on the move.

Okay, so we started out talking about a healthy lunch, but we have to admit that it’s sometimes hard to resist trying other tasty options like the hot, homemade Crab Rangoons. Looking like little, golden fried packages, these crispy wonton wrappers are filled with creamy crab surimi, green onions and warm cream cheese. They are so good, we highly recommend them.

Then there’s dinner! If you are more interested in going for dinner then Wasabi Charlie offers an extensive sushi menu including a tantalizing array of rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and maki. You may want to try the most popular including the flavour-explosive Fire Salmon Roll, the creamy Simpson Bay Roll, or the creative Berna’s Roll rolled in plantain. And if you choose to go for whatever option jumps off the page at you, you will not be disappointed either.

Do not forget that Pineapple Pete has great live music at dinnertime, as well as a large arcade and gaming room where your entire family or group is sure to be entertained, satiated and satisfied. And thinking outside the box, Pineapple Pete has gorgeous sushi platters, which can be ordered for take-out. When you’re hosting guests, this is a sure way to impress them with the perfect addition to any gathering – and it also allows you to enjoy the time, instead of having to be the stressed chef for the evening!

Pineapple Pete is located on Welfare Road 56 in Cole Bay and is open daily from 11:00am to 10:00pm – closed on Tuesdays. Reservations are recommended, with sushi available from 4:00pm and teppanyaki from 5:00 to 10:00pm. For reservations or more information, call +1 (721) 544-6030 or send a WhatsApp message to +1 (721) 523-7383.

At Pineapple Pete and Wasabi Charlie, there is always great food, great service, and great fun!
