Tonight: Third Annual Crew Year’s Eve Fireworks Show

Tonight: Third Annual Crew Year’s Eve Fireworks Show

The community of Sint Maarten/Saint Martin is invited to the 3rd Annual Crew Year’s Eve Fireworks Show, which takes place this evening, January 9, at 10:00, over the Lagoon. While it will be closer to the Causeway side, the fireworks will be seen from all locations around the Lagoon. This event is hosted by the St. Maarten Marine Trades Association, in partnership with IGY Marinas, Yacht Club Port de Plaisance, Palapa Marina, Skyport Marina, Port St. Maarten Group and the Simpson Bay Fireworks Association.

This dazzling event is in celebration and gratitude to the yachts that have visited us this Holiday season, with special thanks to all the hardworking yacht crew members and individuals who work in the hospitality and marine sectors. Many of such individuals have to forgo their personal celebrations to work straight through the Holiday high season. There will be crew parties and special events at the Yacht Club Port de Plaisance, Yacht Club Isle del Sol and Palapa Marina.

This event is open for spectating to the entire community in general, so bring your family, friends, and a festive spirit to celebrate this grand finale to the Holiday season. Some families opt to sit around the airport-causeway area with beach chairs. You can also book a dinner reservation at Lal’s Indian Cuisine to get a great seat, along with cold drinks accompanied by a tasty, aromatic dinner. For a pleasant and romantic viewing experience, there are many other Lagoon-side dining restaurants, such as Astra and Skip Jacks. If you want to get “fancy”, then you may opt to go to the Great Gatsby Night with Sugar Apple Band at Bamboo House from 7:00pm overlooking the entire Lagoon. If what you really want is great food, great service and great fun, then there is the largest arcade on the island at Pineapple Pete plus a live musical performance by guitarist Ronny Santana from 6:30 to 9:30pm.

If you’re looking for the “crew” party vibes, then go to any of our famous “crew bars” such as Dinghy Dock Bar or Lagoonies, around the Lagoon in Simpson Bay. If you want to check out the hottest new “crew bar”, then go to the Kraken Raw Bar in the centre of Simpson Bay, which will be offering special thanks to “crew” by hosting an extended happy hour of 2-for-1 drinks from 5:00 to 9:00pm. There is also the “Rock Night” with Livin’ High Band at the infamous crew bar – Soggy Dollar Bar – starting at 9:00pm; and last, but not least, is “Ladies Night” at Nowhere Special, where ladies get some free drinks from 7:00 to 9:00pm, while the performance by “Roxsy and the Band” starts around 9:00pm.

Be sure to go Out N About TONIGHT! It will be a wonderful bon voyage to 2024; an inspirational kick-off to 2025; and a spectacular, celebratory display of magical fireworks illuminating our Caribbean skies and community!
