It’s Super Bowl weekend again, folks, and we’re preparing for what’s to come. By “what’s to come,” I mean the epic battle between the gladiators of the Atlanta Falcons and the fierce New England Patriots. The game is rife with behind-the-scenes drama; it might as well be an episode of Scandal! There is an entire country full of people rooting for Brady and the Patriots to lose, but will the Falcons be the better team to take down the Golden Boy and his controversial ties to everyone’s least favourite American President?
Let’s not forget – *cough* *cough* – Tom Brady’s four-game suspension – thanks to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. If Goodell has to give the trophy over to Brady, can you say, “VERY awkward trophy ceremony”? As is the NFL tradition, the trophy is either presented to the quarterback, Brady, the owner of the team, who would be Robert Kraft, or the coach, Bill Belichick. If they do end up winning, it’s my wish that Kraft and Belichick are petty enough to make this happen for me!
Atlanta has scored at least 33 points in each of its past six games, which includes four regular season games and two playoff games. But will the pressure be too much to handle? The Patriots are no strangers to the Super Bowl arena and sometimes experience counts; the Falcons haven’t seen a Super Bowl since 1999! Their coach may not be as wet behind the ears, though.
Falcon’s coach Dan Quinn also has high stakes in this game. He was previously the coach for the Seahawks (GO HAWKS!) when they faced off against the Patriots in Super Bowl 49, which sadly ended with his defeat. Remember, he chose NOT to give Marshawn BEASTMODE Lynch the ball at the one-yard line. Let’s see if it’s possible for him to redeem himself after that embarrassing and frankly pathetic call. Sorry, I’m getting in my feelings.
