The Christmas Village

Magical Christmas Experience

’Tis the season for kids to be at home, and for us to try to occupy them as best as possible; and the Dominican Roots foundation is making this much easier as they will be converting part of the Festival Village into a Christmas Village, Caribbean style, of course.

Take your kids to see replicas of the Courthouse, Amsterdam-style and gingerbread houses remodelled with classic and LED lights to fit the Christmas spirit. Let the children run around and play as they bask in the family-friendly fun that promises to be magical as you create new moments to share with them for years to come.

Keeping children entertained is never easy, unless you have something more than lit-up houses, so the organizers have got you covered with bouncy houses! There will also be Christmas carols, dance shows, and handmade Christmas trees. A special section will be set aside for Hands –on Christmas Crafting especially for those who enjoy being artsy!

But, wait! There’s a rumour that snow will be making an appearance too! Make sure you’ve got those electronic devices charged, so you can capture the looks of excitement and sometimes confusion on your children’s faces as they see snow for the first time in the Caribbean. It might turn them into a YouTube sensation.

Don’t bother to feed your kids before they get to the Village, because there will be food and drinks on sale all night with many other children’s favourites like Christmas sweets, cotton candy and popcorn. Good luck getting them to sleep after this!

The Christmas Village will be open on Saturday, December 19. If you miss it, you can catch it again on Sunday, December 20, 6:00pm-midnight.

Entrance is $5 for children up to 12 years old; adults pay $10.
