Tonight @ Karakter

Jazz Jams Concert

What better way to spend an evening than getting into the Jazz groove with Mosaic at Karakter tonight, Thursday, December 10, from 7:00 to 9:00pm!

If you are in the mood for Jazz, then there is absolutely no other place to be than Karakter on Simpson Bay beach. Antillean Liquors & Tobacco and Musicologie will be launching the first event of the “Jazz Jams” concert series. These events are going to be the blend of wine, liquor and good music.

MOSAIC consisting of Fred York on drums, Agnes Petkute on bass, and Keith Joachim on guitar will be the backing band for two of St. Maarten’s favourite singers, Melvin Hodge and Kenneth Hall.

Fred York: “The special thing about this evening is that you will get to experience more or less the whole gamut of the jazz genre in one night. Songs from Louis Armstrong straight up to Michael Bublé and everything in between will be performed.”

Melvin Hodge, the consummate professional, has been entertaining locals and visitors alike at almost every venue on the island for more than three decades. Kenneth Hall is a name you might not be as familiar with, but he’s amassed a body of work as the front-man for groups such as the Rolling Tones (not to be confused with the Rolling Stones), One White Chic and Mosaic.

The Kitchen at Karakter has prepared a scrumptious selection of tapas specifically chosen to pair with Veuve Clicquot Rich:

Shrimp, cucumber and pineapple roll, with sweat chili sauce

Spicy pepper chicken with sweet apple sauce

Pineapple goat cheese shrimp with sour cream ginger sauce

Now does that not sound very appealing?

Come to Karakter SXM and experience this event for yourself. It will be the first in a series of Jazz Jams concerts by Antillean Liquors & Tobacco and Musicologie.
