Bringing Comfort and Community to St. Maarten’s Most Vulnerable

By Foresee Foundation

Enhanced Living Foundation is making a profound impact on the lives of seniors and individuals with physical disabilities, using its mission to provide trusted care, support and resources as its ethos.

This Foundation ensures that those who are most vulnerable can age gracefully and with dignity in the comfort of their own homes. By offering essential services, the Foundation not only enhances the quality of life for these individuals, but also brings peace of mind to their families, knowing their loved ones are in good hands.

Through their work, the Foundation is not just filling a gap in the healthcare system, but is also building a more compassionate and connected St. Maarten. This initiative is a lifeline, not just for those they serve, but for the entire island, easing the strain on long-term care facilities and ensuring that more people can live out their days in familiar, loving environments.

What was the aim of the project?

Our mission is to provide trusted care, support, and resources to seniors, enabling them to age gracefully and with dignity. We also offer the same assistance to persons with physical disabilities.

How does your organisation contribute to a better St. Maarten for all?

Our Foundation provides essential support for seniors and individuals with physical disabilities who require assistance with daily tasks, such as cleaning, grocery shopping, companionship, and running errands. Socially connected seniors are more likely to have better mental and physical health outcomes, and experience frequent positive moods and fewer negative thoughts. This program effectively serves clients and their families, while fostering a supportive community.

What message would you like to send to the community to support your group’s goals?

Enhanced Living Foundation’s focus on providing preventative services for the elderly and physically disabled is crucial, as it addresses the growing need for alternatives to nursing homes, allowing individuals to maintain their independence and live in familiar environments.

By filling this gap, we are not only trying to enhance the quality of life for these populations, but also alleviating the pressure on the overburdened long-term care system. Implementing comprehensive support services tailored to their unique needs can enable more people to age at home safely and comfortably, ensuring they receive the care and assistance necessary for their wellbeing.
