33 active COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday   

There are three patients at SMMC
PHILIPSBURG--St. Maarten’s number of active COVID-19 cases is now 33. On Tuesday, May 11 five persons tested positive for the virus and two recoveries were recorded.

  The total confirmed cases stand at 2,268.

  Collective Prevention Services (CPS) is monitoring 30 persons who are in home isolation. There are three patients hospitalized at the St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC).

  The death count due to COVID-19 remains at 27.

  The number of persons recovered since the first case surfaced on St. Maarten has increased to 2,208. There are 41 persons in quarantine based on contact tracing investigations carried out by CPS.

  The Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labor VSA Airport Health Team in collaboration with Health Care Laboratory St. Maarten (HCLS) have tested 2,769 travellers arriving at the Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA) and CPS has tested 26,880 persons throughout the community.

  CPS assures that as the numbers continue to fluctuate, the department will continue to actively execute its contact tracing measures.

  Minister of VSA Omar Ottley reminds persons to remain vigilant and observe the COVID-19 guidelines for their safety.
