The recently completed drainage project on Billy Folly Road does not seem to be alleviating the issue of settling water that has plagued the area for years.
After a hard but brief rain shower on Monday afternoon, the standing water stretched from Burger King to the entrance of Greenhouse Restaurant and forced vehicles to crawl cautiously along the flooded street. These photos were taken about 10 minutes after the rain stopped falling. Only two weeks ago Minister of Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure VROMI Egbert Doran applauded the contractor and civil servants for completing the project because “residents and visitors alike can now safely use the area.”
