MARIGOT--The Collectivité is reminding citizens that the 2017 income tax return declarations must be handed in no later than May 31. Tax payers have been receiving their income tax returns for the year 2017 in the last few days.
“Much more than an administrative formality, this is a civic duty the consequences of which directly impact the future of our territory and the implementation of annual public policies,” the Collectivité stated in its release. “Everyone’s contribution to the collective effort at this time of reconstruction is more necessary than ever to successfully complete infrastructure and public network rehabilitation projects.
“You are therefore invited to complete your declaration with the utmost sincerity. It must be sent to the Centre des Finances Publiques de Saint-Martin, no later than May 31, 2018, the deadline. If you do not receive your declaration form, you will find it on the Collectivité’s website
www.com-saint-martin.fr (tax section), with all the useful forms and notices to declare the income you have received during the year 2017.”
Taxpayers are informed that the Centre des Finances Publiques de St. Martin (Concordia 16, Rue Jean-Jacques Fayel, ex Tax Service, behind the CAF) is setting up a special system to help them fulfil their reporting obligations.
To this end, the staff concerned are fully mobilised to welcome taxpayers on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30am to 12:00pm and from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, and on Wednesday and Friday from 7:30am to 12:00pm.
