PHILIPSBURG--The staffers at the Health Ministry’s Collective Prevention Services (CPS) have been re-certified after completing two training courses with Windward Islands Emergency Medical Services (WIEMS).

The trainings were held in November over a two-day period. The first day’s course entailed first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training, and the second day of the training was on the use of the automated external defibrillator (AED).

The re-certified staffers were presented with their new cards by WIEMS President Maria Chemont. On presenting the cards, Chemont gave words of encouragement to the re-certified workers, urging them to continue being advocates of health and the importance of everyone being knowledgeable in life-saving techniques.
