MARIGOT--The cruise ship SeaDream as well as other cruise lines continues to send crew members to Maritime School of the West Indies (MSWI) for the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) and other courses, MSWI stated.

MSWI has been audited, inspected and approved by several cruise lines as the course provider with world-wide recognition, including International Yacht Training (IYT) and Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).

“SeaDream is already a happy and loyal customer of the school for more than 12 years,” MSWI said in its release. “Every season during their scheduled stops in St. Maarten or St. Martin they send crew members to do their STCW upgrades, refresher courses and more.

“The crew members were instructed by firefighting teacher Marco London this past week during a practical firefighting day with the latest school apparatus. The training venue changes often and this time the course was instructed at the fire station on the Dutch side.”

The next six-day regular official MCA-recognised STCW 2010 course for mega-, superyacht and local St. Maarten boat crew is scheduled for Monday, January 14, 2019.
