CUPECOY--Cupecoy Sunset Toastmasters Club will host a Table Topics-a-Thon meeting entitled “Christmas with the Candidates” at American University of the Caribbean (AUC) School of Medicine at 6:00pm Thursday, December 12. During the event, political candidates will be given several two-minute timeslots to answer randomly-selected questions.
“Table topics is a fun part of the Toastmasters Club meetings and it helps to train participants to quickly organise and express their thoughts in an impromptu type of setting. In return, individuals display their quick thinking and speaking skills on a myriad of topics in a supportive and encouraging environment.
“Questions posed at the event are not intended to be political in nature, but are designed to get to know the individual,” said the club in a press release on Monday.
The club encourages the general public to attend the event.
Toastmasters International is an educational organisation that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs.
