Préfet Vincent Berton prepares to lay a wreath at the war memorial in the Hôtel de la Collectivité garden on Sunday.
MARIGOT--A ceremony was held in the Hôtel de la Collectivité garden on Sunday morning to commemorate the victims of deportation to concentration and extermination camps during the Second World War. The Remembrance Day is always organised on the last Sunday in April because of its proximity to the anniversary of the liberation.
Préfet Vincent Berton laid a wreath to mark the occasion in the presence of Territorial Councillor Bernadette Davis who was representing President of the Collectivité Louis Mussington.
Members of the Association of War Veterans of St. Martin were also present, as well as representatives of the Gendarmerie and Territorial Police.
