The police reported on Monday that a South African national who arrived in St. Maarten on a JetBlue flight originating from New York on Sunday, June 17, and attempted to enter the island illegally was arrested by the Alpha Team at Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA).
The suspect used a false passport and identification card to gain entry to the country. This person, whose correct identity was not established, has been kept in custody since then pending the outcome of a full investigation. (PJIA arrival pavilion photo)
