Nature Foundation received the first week profit of the “Feel Good Lunches” initiative from St. Maarten Vegans volunteer chefs on Monday. In the first week of the initiative, the group delivered 122 lunches to the needy and raised US $675 and NAf. 66 . For every meal purchased, the group donates a meal to someone in need. All profits from purchases will be donated to foundations such as Nature Foundation. “The donation will be used to start rebuilding our coral nursery, which is very much needed, as corals on the reef have been damaged and destroyed by direct and indirect impacts of the massive hurricane,” stated Melanie Meijer Zu Schlochtern, Nature Foundation Projects Manager. A GoFundMe page – www.gofundme.com/stmaartennaturefoundation – is also active to help raise funds to rebuild the Coral Nursery.
