PHILIPSBURG--Finance Minister Mike Ferrier received a barrage of questions on two draft ordinances from Members of Parliament (MPs) on Tuesday afternoon. The questions covered procedural issues as well as the limited time given to the legislature to peruse documents.
Ferrier tabled in the Central Committee sitting the draft National Ordinance amending the General National Ordinance Land Taxes in connection with international obligations and draft National Ordinance to amend the National Ordinance on Budget 2017 in connection with changes to the Capital Expenditures.
Ferrier is expected back in Parliament in two weeks to deliver answers to questions posed by MPs Wycliffe Smith (St. Maarten Christian Party), Rolando Brison (United St. Maarten Party), Ardwell Irion and Silveria Jacobs (National Alliance).
