Aruba’s auxiliary government office at Savaneta was robbed in broad daylight on Friday afternoon. Three armed were apparently involved and a shot had been fired, but nobody got hurt. The target was two couriers who came to collect the day’s earnings. The crooks got away with about 30,000 florins. Police later received word that the possible suspects had been seen getting into two other cars at Roy’s Hotel. A massive search of the area started and a vehicle with two occupants was stopped at Franse Pas, along with two other cars in Pos Chiquito and Sabana Basora. A total of five persons have been detained, including two Arubans.
