Help at the Lion’s Den

The children of the afterschool centre located in the Lions Club’s Den in Sucker Garden can play outside again for the first time since Hurricane Irma. The gate and fences of the afterschool centre were severely damaged, so playing outside was not safe anymore. Military engineers – the Genie – worked hard for the past weeks to repair the damage to the building and to make sure the children could have their yard back. The Genie poured new concrete, removed all damaged materials, made a new gate and put new fences around the yard. The men of the Genie came to say goodbye to the children of Lions Den on Wednesday, as the project is finished and they will be leaving St. Maarten at the end of this week.
