ST. EUSTATIUS--A large cross-section of the community of St. Eustatius came out on Monday, December 14, for “Lady of Culture” Marcella Marsdin’s annual Red and White Parade on Monday, December 14.

The parade started off at Buzzy Bee Inn and Day Care Center and ran through the streets while parade revellers in their red and white outfits danced to the music provided by DJ Sense and community-minded entrepreneur Shelton Sealey.

Many spectators came out to view the joyful and carefree parade winding its way to the end point at Mike van Putten Youth Center/Lions’ Den, with DJ Sense entertaining the crowd with a mixture of religious and secular Christmas songs.

Marsdin and her helpers showed off their dancing skills throughout the parade and the Christmas revellers danced the night away, reminding persons of Carnival.

The event, which included booths that were set up in the village, set the tone for the upcoming Christmas and holiday season, with togetherness on display throughout.
