Hundreds of volunteers answered the call and participated in the annual SXM DOET event on Friday and Saturday. The volunteers worked on various community and social projects, ranging from replacing pallets on the walkway to Sister Magda Primary School to beautifying the walls outside National Institute of Arts (NIA) to restoring a birdhouse near Little Bay Pond.
In total, there were 87 projects from which volunteers could choose, but some were postponed to later this year because of the rising number of COVID-19 cases on the island.
