Several churches on St. Eustatius honoured the mothers on Sunday in celebration of Mother’s Day. At the Big Stone Fellowship church (in photo), Pastor Maurice Howard encouraged mothers to pray for their children. Church youngsters presented two skits together in a camp held from Wednesday evening to Saturday afternoon.
They also presented mothers with handicraft items made at the camp. The men of the church served lunch to all mothers and the rest of the congregation. The Seventh Day Adventist Church honoured Statia’s oldest resident Albertha Timer-Maynard (100) and all mothers in its service on Saturday. The Methodist Church and Catholic Church also held services to honour all mothers.
