ST. EUSTATIUS--Nasir van Putten has been declared winner of the Cutest Baby Competition for St. Eustatius.

In the competition, parents and guardians had the opportunity to submit a photo of their child.

Nasir van Putten was born in January as the first baby born in 2017. He now adds another title as the cutest baby on Statia 2017.

On Thursday, the winners and runners-up were announced to parents and guardians who had gathered at Mike “Ernest” van Putten Youth Centre to pick up their prizes. The children also had the opportunity to visit Santa Claus.

Young “Mister” Van Putten won the Baby Contest with 708 points. Little “Miss” C. Romney ended first runner-up with 657 points, with Wayvanie Spanner ending as second runner-up with 559 points, among 27 participants vying for the cutest baby title.

Little Miss Spanner had a few tense moments while interacting with Santa, but was all smiles when she received her prizes.
