President Louis Mussington and his Vice-Presidents met with St. Barths President Xavier Lédée (seated at head of table) on Monday.
MARIGOT--President Louis Mussington travelled to St. Barthélemy for a courtesy meeting on Monday, May 2, accompanied by his Vice-Presidents Frantz Gumbs, in charge of the Living Environment, and Michel Petit, in charge of Social Affairs.
The objective of first trip to St. Barthelemy was to meet with new President Xavier Lédée and his team to discuss issues common to both territories. Among subjects discussed were issues related to health, the hospital and senior citizen homes, and the need to strengthen staffing requirements in the field of education.
The elected officials also discussed the necessary development of a bureau of statistics and the organic law that governs the two territories. The trip was designed to strengthen links with their counterparts in the neighbouring islands.
A first trip to meet the Premier of Anguilla was organised on April 17 and, following the trip to St. Barthélemy, Mussington will receive a delegation from the Council of Ministers of St. Maarten on May 5.
