WEATHER:   This afternoon through tonight: Cloudy and breezy with occasional showers.

Friday morning through midday: Partly cloudy and breezy with passing showers possible.

SURFACE WINDS:  This afternoon through Friday midday: East-northeast to east with a gentle to moderate breeze of 10 to 19 mph, and higher gusts possible.

 

SYNOPSIS:  

Instability in the mid to upper levels of the atmosphere coupled with a slight moisture surge will account for cloudy periods, occasional showers, some of which could be heavy and a low chance of isolated thunderstorms across the region. Additionally, the strengthened Atlantic high pressure system will maintain mostly brisk winds.

Seas are expected to peak near 9 feet during the next few days. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution, especially at the northern and eastern shores.

 

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate to Rough      WAVES/SWELLS: 7 to 9 feet.
